    JetSox have been developed by two specialist anaesthetists from Adelaide, South Australia. Both doctors has seen the effectiveness of this type of product in their hospital patients and firmly believe travel compression socks will be beneficial to all airline passengers.

    JetSox are recommended for all types of long duration travel including: aeroplane, train, car and bus.

    How to choose your size:
    It is VERY important that you wear the correct size of JetSox. To determine your size, measure around your naked leg just above the ankle bone using a tape measure. Make sure you measure both left and right ankles and select your size based on your larger ankle.

    How do I reduce my risk of blood clots?

    There is no 100% guaranteed way to protect against blood clots in the deep veins formation - but your chances of developing a blood clot can be reduced by:
    • Wearing travel compression socks
    • Regular leg and foot exercises
    • Moving around the cabin whenever it is safe to do so
    • Avoid crossing your legs while seated
    • Maintain adequate non alcoholic and non caffeine fluid intake
    Note:
    Some very high risk passengers should seek advice from their doctor before flying and using compression socks, to check if there are any extra precautions they should take.

    These include people who suffer from:
    ● Severe arterial or venous disease of their lower legs
    ● Nerve damage of the lower leg or foot e.g. complicated diabetes
    ● Open ulcers/wounds of the lower leg
    ● Passengers suffering from severe swelling of their legs due to any cause

    Medical Disclaimer:
    JetSox are a type of graduated compression stocking. Although graduated compression stockings have been shown in several scientific studies to reduce the risk of DVT formation in flight, they may not prevent DVT formation in everybody. We therefore cannot and do not give any warranty that wearing JetSox will prevent you from developing DVT.

    To be effective JetSox need to be worn for the whole duration of the flight.

    In addition to wearing compression stockings, there are certain other steps that you can take to reduce the risk of DVT including ensuring adequate fluid intake and leg exercises.

    You should consult your doctor regarding what additional steps you should take given your individual circumstances.

    Should you develop any symptoms of DVT or Pulmonary Embolus during flight or within 6 weeks of flying, it is important you seek urgent medical advice. The symptoms may include, but are not limited to:

    1. Painful calf or lower leg.
    2. Swelling of the lower leg.
    3. Redness over the calf muscle.
    4. Tenderness over the calf muscle.
    5. Shortness of breath.
    6. Chest Pain.
    7. Unexplained fast heart rate.

    Although JetSox are safe to wear, if you have any of the following medical conditions, you should seek medical advice before wearing JetSox:

    1. Impaired circulation (arterial or venous) of the lower limbs.
    2. Nerve damage involving lower legs or feet.
    3. Open wounds/ulcers of the lower limbs.
    4. Swelling of the legs.
